The program BS in Economics is launched for students of non-economics backgrounds. It consists of five semesters. The first semester is the foundation semester in which the basics of economics are taught to students so that they become at par with the students having economic backgrounds. At least five subjects with 3 credit hours each (total 15 credit hours) will be offered in each semester. Every subject contains 100 marks. The bifurcation of marks includes 25 marks for the Mid-Term exam, 10 marks for Attendance, 15 sessional marks, and 50 marks for final terminal exams. At the completion of course work, every student will have to write a carry out a research project/dissertation which follows viva voce.

BA/BSc/B.Com and equivalent with at least 2nd division.
The students having a BS in Economics 2.5-year degree can start their own business, join the Economic Departments of any institution, work as an independent consultant, conduct research on any project, and get admission in Pakistani and foreign universities for higher education.
