BS Urdu (2-years)

Introduction

BS in Urdu at the ISP Multan is a 02-year program specifically designed to up-skill the students who harbor a passion for the Urdu Language. The Best University in Multan follows the mission to encourage the learners to read and analyze a wide range of creative and critical texts critically, with the aim to orient them to various traditions of writing/speaking in Urdu. Being highly interdisciplinary in nature, the program enables students to connect their knowledge of Urdu language, several areas of social sciences as well as language & Literature such as philosophy, psychology, Statistics, Mathematics & Statistics Pak Studies, English, Islamiat, Arabic, Education, Computer, and History & Geography. The program allows the students a considerable degree of choice, both in pursuing their area of interest and in selecting a topic of their curiosity for writing their dissertations in the final semesters. Thus, the intensive and extensive focused learning and practice that the students experience during their four-year stay at the Department fully concoct them for pursuing advanced studies and an array of professions and career opportunities.

Program Educational Objectives (PEOs)

PEO-I

Educate students in both the artistry and utility of the Urdu language through the study of Literature and other contemporary forms of culture.

PEO-II

Provide students with the critical faculties necessary in an academic environment, on the job, and in an increasingly complex, interdependent world.

PEO-III

Graduate students who are capable of performing research, analysis, and criticism of literary and cultural texts from different historical periods and genres.

PEO-IV

Assist students in the development of intellectual flexibility, creativity, and cultural literacy so that they may engage in life-long learning.

Programs Learning Outcomes (PLOs)

PLO-I

The students would have profound knowledge of the techniques of textual analysis.

PLO-II

The students would be competent to adequately express themselves by oral and written communication.

PLO-III

The students would have profound knowledge of the key concepts in the Urdu Language and Literature.

PLO-IV

The students would be able to critically explore major schools of literary criticism and theory.

PLO-V

The graduates would be able to conduct both qualitative and quantitative research in the fields of Urdu Literature and Linguistics.

PLO-VI

The students would be able to get admission in research programs in Urdu Language and Literature.

PLO-VII

The students would be equipped with professional skills in teaching, research, and managerial positions.

Eligibility Criteria

ADP in relevant Education with at least 2nd division.

 

Career Prospects

There is a wide array of opportunities in government and private sectors available to BS Urdu graduates, including editing, teaching, newspaper reporting, as well as employed social media writers in various research firms.
