M.Phil English

Introduction

MPhil program is a 02-year rigorous program that is divided into two major portions, a taught portion and a research portion. During the MPhil English program, students are given opportunities to explore theoretical knowledge as well as establish a strong foundation or research. A Research thesis project is assigned under the supervision of a research supervisor—our M.Phil. English programs scrutinize a variety of challenges and problems related to language in contemporary society. Among these, the most prominent issues include second and foreign language education. The students are encouraged to work in the areas of corpus linguistics, bilingualism, and multilingualism, child language development, second language acquisition, sociolinguistics, cross-cultural pragmatics, discourse and conversational analysis, intercultural communication, language teaching, the effectiveness of A/V Aids in classroom teaching and learning, trends in post-modern literature, critical theories to be applied on text, neo-classicism, and translational studies.

For M.Phil English program NOC is granted by HEC Pakistan.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Sixteen years of schooling or 4 year education in relevant filed from HEC recognized DAI will be required for admission.
  • The GAT-General (CAT-B) (www.nts.org.pk/gat/gat.asp) / ISP-Admit Test conducted by the National Testing Service with a minimum 50% cumulative score will be required at the time of admission.
